Course Aim
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a suite of training courses which teaches people how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue – this 4 hour, half day course is an introductory session to raise awareness of Mental Health.
Course Objective
Upon successful completion of the training program, you will have:
- An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma
- A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
- An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing
- Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue
A theory based course over 4 hours, typically completed in a Morning of Afternoon session and all those attending will receive a nationally recognised certificate.
Each candidate will receive a copy of a ‘Adult MHFA Awareness’ colour reference manual and a ‘Adult MHFA Awareness Workbook’ which are a clear, concise and valuable review tool for future reference.
